Vaio - Motion Eye

I have a Vaio VGN SZ61WN running Vista Business but cant get my Motion Eye to work - any ideas?

    Hi Mark,

     

    Is the camera listed under Imaging Devices in Device Manager? If so is it recorded as a ‘Sony Visual Communication Camera'?

     

    If no such device appears under Imaging Devices are there any ‘Unknown’ devices listed in Device Manager?

    WIth which software are you attempting to use the camera?

    Rich,

     

    There are no Imaging Devices in Device Manager and there is no Unknown Devices listed....my laptop was rebuilt last year and now runs Vista - but i couldn't get the Motion Eye to work before that. I have approached the Sony website for help but they dont appear to either recognise my model or be able to help...

    Hi Mark,

     

    Try resetting all USB devices.

     

    To do this open Device Manager and expand Universal Serial Bus controllers. Delete all in the tree and then shut down. Disconnect the power supply, remove the battery and then hold down the power button for 30 seconds.

     

    Re-attach the power adaptor, reconnect the battery and re-boot - Windows will reload all USB drivers.

     

    Does anything then appear in Device Manager? If not you could have a hardware problem.
